As November unfolds in a splendor of autumn hues, we're reminded of the beauty in life. Whether you're thankful for your loved ones, small victories, simple moments of quiet, or a new book, embracing everyday gratitude brings meaning and grace to every part of our lives.
My Favorite Holiday
It may be a ‘manufactured’ holiday but Thanksgiving Day is my favorite to celebrate. Throughout history, the harvest season was celebrated which occurred in the fall. Regardless of the yield of crops in the fields, it inspired thankfulness.
In our modern age, we may look at all sorts of things as necessary but recent storms in the USA have reminded us—water, food, shelter—remain paramount for life.
And that is the essence of a day of Thanksgiving—a table laden with good food to share with family, friends, and (at my home) often neighbors. On some occasions, strangers (invited by other attendees).
If your gratitude has inspired you to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts spurred by Hurricane Helene, these are some organizations that I chose to support.
You are a part
This month, I'd like to take a moment to say how thankful I am that you're part of my life, even if it's only by reading the words written here. You remind me that no matter what else goes on in the world, at the end of the day, there are still people who love a good story. I can give you those.
Below is an entire collection of good stories from many authors. This month’s selection focuses on women’s fiction. These books capture the moments that shape us and the choices that define us.
More Bookstuff
My challenge for you is to recognize the good in each day, no matter how small it may seem. From a cozy evening with a favorite book to sharing laughter with friends and family, each moment offers a glimpse of the extraordinary.
Speaking of extraordinary, that's the force behind what happens in A Wrong Turn Right, a time-travel romance.
“As dusk settles, Wendellia is startled by the arrival of a man in strange clothing, calling out with urgency and wonder. With no roads nearby, his presence is as mysterious as the night itself.
Dr. Preston McClendon didn’t expect a broken-down car to lead him to a secluded woodland… or to a woman of striking beauty and quiet strength.
Their unexpected meeting will challenge their hearts and shift their paths forever.”
