Romancing the Book 💕
Because every good story knows how to woo us in its own way.
“The story is truly finished — and meaning is made — not when the author adds the last period, but when the reader enters.” ~Celeste Ng
February arrives wrapped in hearts, chocolates, and conversations about love. And while Valentine’s Day often points us toward romance, I’ve been thinking about another kind of love story—the one that begins the moment we open a book.
Maybe Romancing the Book is the right phrase after all.
Whether a story is a romance or not, a truly good book knows how to entice us. It beckons us forward, page by page, inviting us to linger just a little longer. It asks for our attention, our imagination, sometimes even our hearts. And before we realize it, we’re invested.
Books have always carried me into lives very different from my own. Through them, I’ve felt the ache and hope of characters across time and place. I’ve walked beside Preston as he’s pulled into another era in A Wrong Turn Right. I’ve lived the grit and grace of history again through The Shaw Point Collection. I’ve even found myself in worlds that don’t exist at all—like Lydia’s in The Tide Is Against You.
And then there are stories that remind us, love doesn’t always look grand or predictable. Sometimes it looks like showing up. Making do. Choosing joy in the everyday.
That’s where Sparkle Spin-Tumble Bin lives.
At its heart, it’s a story about ordinary spaces touched by something extraordinary. About routines that become rituals. About small acts of care, community, and connection that quietly change everything. It’s whimsical, yes—but it’s also deeply human.
.Sparkle Spin-Tumble Bin will be released as an expanded multi-chapter book.
And I’m thrilled to share that the complete Sparkle Spin-Tumble Bin story will be released on Amazon by February 14. Whether you first fell in love with this whimsical tale episode by episode or are discovering it for the first time, this release feels like a love letter fully expanded, sealed, and sent.
More Goodies
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I’ve created a free downloadable gift inspired by the story—just a little something to delight and say thank you to my newsletter readers. Consider it a love note from me to you, wrapped in story and whimsy.
So this February, I hope you romance a book—or two. Let yourself be wooed by a story. Let it carry you somewhere new, or remind you of something familiar. That kind of love lasts far longer than a single day on the calendar.
